First of all I feel weird posting this on here for fear of a certain professor / other NYU staff finding this post but I'll give it a shot anyway.

I was assigned a certain MAP professor... ummm his last name begins with an R.... for a certain Antiquity and the 19th Century linked with WTE class (oh jesus just don't let him find this thread) and so far I've only read bad "reviews" on Rate my Professor. For example students say it will be ridiculously hard to get an A no matter how hard I work. Yuck. I was just curious if anyone had any insights?

Thanks. Sorry for being vague... I just figure maybe he can't find this page via google or something now. Haha

Insight on what specifically? Stop worrying, NYU faculty wouldn't waste their time reading this.

I'm transferring to NYU this Fall and I've read that all those linked classes are pretty difficult. Probably more so than if you took a con. west and a WTE separately. I think CAS can still reregister for a different con. west class, but I'm really not sure what the schedule is for registration now. I think I got an email saying incoming CAS students can still register for Con. West stuff and World Cultures, but I can't exactly verify that.

I don't think you should worry. Even if you can't switch out of his class right now, you should be able to during the first (add/drop) week when people decide to drop classes.

You didn't read the faculty evaluations or ratemyprofessor before you registered for the class? ;) Use Albert and go through course evaluations by instructors. I figure any professor that has a ~3 or lower in workload is perfect.

don't stress that much. i got an A in that class. if you work hard you'll get an A. besides, the TA does most of the grading, not the professor.

by the way there's no way NYU profs read this site. they have better things to do than scan every post for a possible mention of their names.

it's not SO IMPORTANT to get an A, but the major I'm shooting for is very competitive and requires a certain GPA, so I want to try and get the best grades possible. fair enough?
