I'm a rising Sophomore, would it be a bad idea to transfer schools. I really need advice and help!

Greetings,
I am a rising sophomore that was forced to go to a private school freshman year. I decided on a Catholic school. I went through a lot and inevitably had a terrible Freshman year. My weighted GPA was 3.3 in two honors classes. I ended up with one C+ on my official transcript.
I enjoy learning and want to work as hard as a can for the rest of high school and threw out college to make a difference in the world. At my public high school, I would have more time, more opportunity to be involved in my town’s community.

At my private school, the school its self is a community after school ends and a lot of the clubs I could be involved in would benefit the people in my school as opposed to people in a town.

I have a lot of big ideas I have the power to implement in both types of school's communities, though I feel I could better express myself at my public high school and I would have more time for it. I would also be losing the name and prestigiousness of my private school. However, I am self-willed and do not need that.

Also, I played Varsity soccer at my D1 high school and compete at a high club level as well.

Would transferring to my public school lessen my chances to get into a top school for science?

Would transferring lesson my chances of getting into any top school in general?

DO I still have a chance of getting into an IVy?

Does anybody have any related advice? I do not know what to do, and it’s getting close to the school year.

All help is GREATLY appreciated

And also, What effect would perfect ACT and SAT scores have

Your original question is: “would it be a bad idea to transfer schools.”

I would say no. I don’t think that transferring would have much effect at all on your college applications.

This is a good time to transfer…you will have time to get involved in ECs and get to know your teachers and GC.
It is always good to have good SAT/GPA but it does not guarantee anything. DO the best you can do.
