i'm the son of matt sorum. (drummer for Guns N' Roses from 1990 to 1997 and currently with Velvet Revolver). heh, you think this will help me at all? i did mention this in my essay, saying that my dad gave me a huge musical influence and of course mentioned that he was with Guns and Velvet. does this give me a little celeberity status? btw, this is seriously not a joke.

Maybe at IU but not as likely at Purdue. Hehehe I think this is a flame.

if you are his son, u dont have to go to college! you're rich!

Well, it can't hurt.

Haha thats awesome, have you ever met Axl, Slash, or Scott Weiland?

Anyways your scores/EC's still should be in range of schools your interested, but i'm sure it can't hurt (especially if you are rich)

Just because his rich doesnt mean he wants to live off of his fathers money. I'm glad your going to college, its kool that you want to do your own thing.

If your file lands on a GnR fan's desk, it might help. ;)

Honestly, the development office would care more about a celebrity than the admission office. As an admission officer, I don't care who your dad is. I'm much more concerned with your high school transcript, essays, recs, etc.

I think you're a spoiled brat... Maybe your rich daddy can pay the school 10 million dollars so you can get in

You dont even know him? wth?

are you really poor paul? I don't see any other reason for you to hate on someone simply because they are the child of a rockstar.

but to be honest, it probably won't help your admissions decision at all (unless your father donates to the school) because being a celebrity and being a celebrity's son is very different.

This may sound bad and unfair to those of us not with that amount of money, but in all seriousness, depending on how rich you are a large donation of money to the school of your choice would certainly help you in your search for admission into the school (schools want $, and if they can accept someone (or someones parents) who they see potential for donations from)

amadsjc FTW. Talk your dad into giving the school a chunk of his millions and you should have no problem.

That's awesome. I <3ed Sorum in Neurotic Outsiders (& everything else)

Agree with etti...you'd be what they call a "developmental admit."

this kid is bsing us all he is not his son

dude i love your dad ....and gnr awesome kid

Actually, if your father called development and offered a free on-campus concert, I bet that would do it.

But you'll probably get in on your own merit. Try that first.

No you are not Matt Sorum's son
I believe at some point you mentioned you are an international student of some sort. Canadian maybe.
