I'm a sophmore and studying for the ACT

I was wondering if you needed to know as much vocabulary as you would on the SAT?

Another thing! I just bought the Real ACT prep guide, and I'm wondering if I should buy Barron's or the Princeton Review...

Lastly, I'm taking the Plan next week...Is it in any way similar to the real ACT?

P.S.- For the reading section of the ACT, I was told to real only the prose fiction. In Ultimate ACT Time-Saving Guide , however, it says to read everything?

You do not need to know as much vocabulary on the ACT. Rarely does the ACT ask vocabulary-type questions. As for the PLAN test, it is an exact replica of the ACT. The PLAN test sees how well you will do on the actual ACT. The PLAN doesn't have as much questions though. I would recommend the Princeton's Review and McGraw-Hill's ACT Prep book. Both of them helped me raise my score by 5 whole points. Have fun studying and good luck!!!!!

Thanks. :)
