i can write a awesome essay so it wont be a problem
. what are my chances in top universities, ,specially in following universities
harvard, princeton, yale, dartmouth, amherst, vanderbilt.
One thing i forgot, i can get really strong letter of recommendations from reputed professors and school teachers…
International transfers are nearly impossible but, if someone can get in you can. You should look into some UK uni’s because there you can apply as a freshman colleges like UCL or Imperial.
Internationals have less chance to be admitted and also it will be more difficult to get in, but your stats are good for those schools. You seem a good candidate for those schools also try to look for more schools because anything can happen with those schools. Can you afford those schools?
@jr12317 OP is a transfer student which makes it very difficult also Princeton does not admit transfers. FYI.
Your chances are bleak to zero. It’s harder for an int’l applicant from India to be admitted because u are competing against a HUGE number of your countrymen for a limited number of slots for Indian students. Then it’s even harder to be admitted as a transfer student than as a new freshman.
Yeah, I saw that. He needs to look for those schools if he can transfer to those schools. As @Bored1997 said, Princeton doesn’t admit transfer. But he has good stats to be admitted. It’s not impossible, but it will be harder.
i wont be a transfer student. i will apply as a freshman. its okay for me to waste 1 or 2 years if i could get in. and @Jr12317 i cant afford those, these universities give financial aid to international students.
and i will be applying next year so i got one more year to improve my application too…
You are a transfer since you are in Delhi University. Then your chances decrease even more If you can’t afford them. They give need based aid.
that means i can not apply for fresh admission? i want to start my study as a freshman in US. i don’t want any credits to be transferred.
You cannot apply as freshman even if you want to.
What if i dont tell them that i’m in Delhi University. cant a 19 year old kid apply as freshman? @Bored1997 @Jr12317
Sorry to say that @ankind123, but that’s the true. You will need to apply as a transfer but don’t give up. Everything is possible, as I said your stats are pretty good.
@ankind123 I don’t know but that would be dishonest. Don’t do that, also for transfer I don’t know if they offer need based aid as well. Take a look on those schools l.
@Jr12317 , can you suggest something that will further strengthen my application?
Subject tests can give a little bit more of weight to your app, also try to do good at Delhi University. Money will be a factor…
@Jr12317 , if i leave Delhi university before getting my first year certificate, then i maybe become elligible to apply as freshman.
“Typically, as long as you have Not completed a full year of courses at another university you may apply as a freshman.
Otherwise you will apply as a Transfer student.” - Tom Stagliano, MIT Volunteer, interviewing freshmen for admissions
Yep, I think that’s right. @ankind123
Check with each school policy about transfers.
