I'm a total n00b (even more for EC's)

Okay, so I still have a few years (3+ counting this one), but I know that I want to go to law school.
So you know how some people who are aiming to go in the medical field they volunteer at hospitals and what not. But where could I volunteer since I want to go in law ? I'm into horseback riding (on the regional and provincial) so would volunteering there look good ?
And does anyone know about the native american program they have at Harvard ? My dad once told me about it a few years ago but vaguely and I havn't found much about it.
Sorry if my english isn't perfect, it isn't my first language. It will get radically better in a year though, so no worry.

Apply to do an internship with the ACLU or with a political non-profit group. Also consider internships with the United Nations or just doing work for a larger business. About 60% of all top-paid lawyers do corporate law nowadays, so to be successful they need to understand business--especially accounting or patents or mergers & acquisitions.

I live in Canada ... can still apply for an intership at ACLU ?
