Im a transfer student and im graduating highschool

Im a transfer student and im graduating this year and i have a 3.79 gpa untill my junior yeat but in my senior year i’ve been getting all b’s because when it was hard to adapt to the new school and culture and everything, what will my gpa will be after senior year and what are my chancea of getting in a selective college(not harvard) and do colleges consider that im new to the country and away from my family as a reason for my grade drop?dont get me wrong i get all A in every test and quiz but im working on my status in the us thats why i was busy and i also have the sat on the other side which i got a 1250 in it, can i send those reasons in my college application not including the sat?

Do you mean that you transferred from another HS overseas to your current HS in the USA? If you are a current senior are you planning to take a gap year?

If you are in HIGH SCHOOL, and those college classes were earned while in high school, then you are not a transfer student. You would apply as an incoming frosh.

Do not apply as a transfer…less merit, less aid.

Yes exactly and yes i am planninh to take a gap year to get used to everything here

Ok thank you

@mom2collegekids: I wouldn’t say that is absolutely true.

I’ve seen many LACs where the scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa (CC honors society) is almost as high as their biggest merit scholarship for freshmen and obviously, if you can get enough credits to transfer (and are focused enough) to graduate in two years, that’s a big cost savings.
2Y CC+2Y full-pay would actually be cheaper than 4Y with a half-tuition scholarship from the same school.
