I don’t know many specifics about the social sciences at NCSU other than that it is the second largest school at the university. As I said in the post above, NC State is generally a very science and math oriented school.

Sorry I don’t know a ton about this! Here is the link to the website for State’s College of Humanities and Social Science if you want to learn more… [College of Humanities and Social Sciences](About Us | College of Humanities and Social Sciences)

Yes, Belmont is in Nashville, right near Vanderbilt. It’s a small school on a very pretty campus. A lot of the buildings are very “new” feeling. Belmont is a Christian University, and this actually affects the atmosphere there much more than I thought it would. Dorm buildings are separated by males and females, and there are curfews for the opposite sex at about 10 p.m. I believe. Rules such as this might make a restricted college experience for some, and others might find it comfortable to have rules in place. Some people just need a more structured environment. This is definitely not a partying school. Weekends consist of a lot of chilling in dorm rooms watching marathons of The Office.

The program I know a lot about at Belmont is Music Business. This program is the second strongest of its kind in the country (after NYU,) and has fantastic facilities!

Compared with NC State, a large state school, Belmont is completely different. My two posts above talk a lot about the atmosphere and programs and such at State, so you can check those out. If you have any other questions about it, let me know!

I thought Yale was a beautiful and very energetic school. Not dark and gloomy at all. When I toured there, probably 75% of the students that we passed said hey to our group and yelled things like “Come to Yale!” Everyone was so friendly, and really pumped to be there, haha. And the campus was very open and grassy. It didn’t feel small and dark.

As far as the buildings, the majority of the architecture was done in the neo-Gothic style. I think it’s all very pretty, and almost gives a more intellectual atmosphere. The architecture is also similar to that of Duke University, just for comparison.

Also, New Haven is not the most idyllic location for a college campus. It has neither the small-town grace of Princeton or Charlottesville nor the urbane bustle of Cambridge or Berkeley. But it is, as much as any of these places, a city whose identity comes from the university that is in its midst. The campus of Yale begins at the top of the New Haven Green, the sumptuous open space that is both the heart and the symbol of this old New England downtown,

It’s ironic that I’m answering this question today, because Elon just sent out their notifications today! A lot of my friends are celebrating right now!

Elon does have a great Honors Program, and is an ideal school for those seeking a smaller school focused on giving individual attention. It is certainly a good school academically. I wouldn’t really consider it a “party school.”

As yes, Elon is basically in the middle of nowhere, so students really try to always have stuff going on on campus. A though it is very close, I really wouldn’t get your hopes up about Burlington. It is…not so much of a city. The closest town that I would really consider a city is Greensboro. Greensboro is pretty cool though. There’s several venues to go see live music, some decent shopping, and a lot of clubs. People where I live actually go to Greensboro for clubbing because of the lack of it here.
