Despite my rather outspoken opinion of chance threads, I've begun wondering if maybe I'm a little too overconfident. I'd love some opinions on my shots.

Wow! Great scores. I’d say you have a pretty good shot at all the schools.

MIT- reach/match
Stanford- reach
Columbia- reach/match
Brown- reach/match
Harvard- reach
UChicago- match
U michigan- safety
Amherst- match
Swarthmore- match
Northwestern- match
JHU- match

You have excellent scores! Do you know your class rank–that is extremely important. You have lacking ECs so I dont know if you would get in to all of the schools…all of the ivies would be a reach for you in my opinion, including MIT and Stanford. U Chicago depends a lot on your essays, JHU, Northwestern, Amherst, Swarthmore, are all match/reaches and Michigan would be a safety for you. Good luck!

Michigan should not be on the list of any international needing lots of aid.

These schools will each take a couple of students from China. the competition is brutal. many will be among the very top students in the country with national awards. Many will have near perfect or perfect scores.

You don’t give us enough info about your academic strengths to begin to compare you in this pool.
