I plan on going to law school, but i ultimately want to work in foreign service as an ambassador or diplomat. I know that I either want to major in International Relations or Political Science with a double major in economics. As for a minor, I've done French for the past 5 years. I've also done Chinese and I want to continue both plus Arabic and Russian in college. How do I narrow this down? I would, ideally, want a degree/certificate in all four languages while maintaining my double major.

Given that most people who study a foreign language in college end up studying abroad in a country where the language is spoken, it’ll be virtually impossible to study four languages to the point of fluency in college while double majoring.

Fortunately, most students change their majors in college, so you can take classes that interest you, and then decide on your field of study. I’d recommend looking into colleges without particularly onerous general education requirements, as that will free up your schedule.

Btw, according to an alum of my college who now works for the foreign service, 75% of recent hires held an advanced degree.

Do you think I should just stick to French and Arabic?
