I'm All Over The Place Help Me!!!!

So basically, I am a senior trying to pick what colleges I want to go to and I have no idea what I want to major in.

I initially wanted to major in Journalism but I wanted to find something that would interest me like writing but would also be lucrative after graduating.

Here is the part where I get stuck. I love anything international from language to ways of life, but I don't know what I could major in to do that. I also want to make money.

My serious college choices right now are UNC (great journalism school, but I want primarily to do broadcast journalism), GW, and Pitt.

I'm leaning towards going to GW but I don't want to regret it if I try to pursue journalism as UNC has one of the best j-schools in the country. Its just that I hate the idea of a small town. I'm a mess I know, any help and/or recommendations would be appreciated.

Try to pick schools which have a wide variety of majors offered, but base it on other things. Find one that strikes your fancy in other areas (location, size, activities, student body).

As far as majors go, you may want to look into international relations. I don't know anything about it though.

I second the international relations major. IR majors are usually very flexible and allow you to combine coursework in a foreign language, political science, economics, sociology, history and area studies.

You could for example aim for a double major in journalism and international relations (I think that most journalism programs require a minor or double-major anyway). If you decide along the way that you don't like one of the two subjects or that you would rather do only politics or French studies instead of international relations, you would have a lot of options to adjust your program without falling too far behind.
