I am currently a permanent resident in Texas and I have recieved the admission package (YAY =D)
but I was disappointed to find NO financial aid.
I realized I had bunch of other letters about taking the TOEFFL or some languish proficiency test if I wasn't a native speaker (which I am not...but still)
And then I realized I'd been accepted as an INTERNATIONAL student!
and obviously there's no financial aid for internationals...
I desperately need financial aid...
I emailed them but I'm not expecting a response soon because for them it should be really the chaotic time of the year now.

Do you think they'll still accept me even though I'm not a international?
And do you think they will have enough financial aid for me to recieve? =T
gosh everything about my admission seems faulty.
cornell got my one of my recs yesterday and ut at austin is still missing one of my recs.
am i just unlucky-_-?

You are super unlucky.
1. Why did you apply as an international if you have are a legit permanent resident. Did you NOT check the permanent resident box? Do you have your green card?
2. If you were accepted as an international you will more likely be accepted as a permanent resident. It is usually harder for internationals to get in (though this is not always the case because sometimes they want you to come so they can milk you for the 40k).

What you need to do is call Carnegie Mellon immediately and say everything you just typed out. They'll probably transfer you quite a few times but be patient and demanding.

If you cannot attend based on money, directly tell them that as they will work with students and even match other college's financial aid packages.

I didn't apply as an international...
I used the common application and I have stated clearly that I am a "U.S. Permanent Resident".
And Yes I just checked right now T_T
But on the Where am I in th Process site,
my U.S. Citizenship : N, although it's true I'm not quite a resident yet.

Thanks for the encouragement. ^^
I've sent the email as you have said but they are currently not picking up my phone calls.
I will call tomorrow and see how it will work out.
Thank you AcceptedAlready!

They didn't send financial aid info yet. I'm a US Citizen and didn't get anything. Supposedly they send that next week.

Or, perhaps they did send financial aid info and forgot mine. But my best friend, who also got in, did not get her financial aid package yet either.

Nothing about financial aid was mentioned in my acceptance letter either. Either CMU sends it in another letter, or they're just being very, very, stingy.

no guys i called admissions office today the financial aid stuff wont be sent out for a few days...they said probably some time by the end of next week we will recieve it
