Do I have to mention in my application why I chose to do this?

Most colleges want at least 2 teacher recommendations. If you plan on applying as a science major, you should try to get one recommendation from one of your science teachers.

Yeah, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a science teacher write one, but it might be too late at this point.

I’m applying for industrial design and computer science, and my recommendation is from a History teacher (thought my other one is from a science teacher). It’s better to go with someone who can really say something positive and something that would be helpful to the admissions people.

I would have gotten a science teacher to write one but all my science teachers either retired or left for other schools in undisclosed locations. lol

The science teacher who wrote my recommendation was actually fired at the end of the school year when I had him (last year). Though, he actually lives in my town (about a block away from the school awkward), so we were able to work it out.

oh… he was just fired for disagreements with the administration (just the principal), and not because he did anything wrong.
