I went through all the practice tests && booklets, AND reviewed answers.
I also did hardcore studying ;; (vocab, grammar, basic math skills)
BUT I NEVER SEEM TO GET OVER 1900
I spend 2 hours mon -thurs studying, self-prepping, and even took a course during the fall term.

Am I just naturally dumb?
there are so many people who get over 1800 no studying taking it cold.

Should I take another one in June?
I want to be DONE with SAT before the summer cause I don't want to worry about it senior year.

You went from a 1300 to a 1700. If that’s not improvement then I don’t know what is.

But I have to say 480CR is kind of… low. But yeah, some people are just better test takers than others.

I’ll start off by saying that 1900 is a fantastic score in my view and that such a score will let you in some great schools. It may not be good enough for the top 30 universities, but you’ll still be able to get into some reputable institutions such as BU, your local state university, NYU, etc.

Well, obviously what your doing isn’t working for you. There might be some natural restraint that prevents you from reaching that coveted score, but it doesn’t mean you’re dumb - the vast, vast majority of students cannot attain a score of 2000. You’re just not some test-taking savant. A 2000 SAT score has a 93 percentile rank for a reason. Out of the 1.5 million students that took the SATs, 1,395,000 received a score that was as impressive or less so than yours.

I know that skimming through the college confidential forums, it might seem that any regular joe can easily get a 2200 on the SATs, but statistics prove it is simply not so.
