Guys! Today, my father went to get the mail and he handed me a big envelope and then, I just knew it! I GOT ACCEPTED TO BROWN UNIVERSITY AS A TRANSFER!!! I’m soooo overjoyed!!! I still can’t believe it right now! huge sigh of relief WOOO HOOO!

Oh wow congratulations, you must be ecstatic. Well done. :) It sounds like you're the first to hear (on CC). I'm waiting for mine, but I'll be waiting for a while, as I'm in another country. Do you mind me asking where you're transferring from and if you're a freshman or sophomore?

Buggz, great news..congratulations!

Buggz, mind sharing some stats? Congrats.

buggz - where are you from?

Sportzen: it says from Providence, RI, which I guess is why the mail gets there a little quicker than everyone else. Lucky. :)

Congrats, Buggz! Did the acceptance letter mention the number of applicants admitted and the total number of applicants who applied?

On my letter, it says "You are one of a small group of highly-qualified students accepted from among more than 1,000 applicants for full-time matriculation." So, I guess over 1,000 students applied...lol, and yes, since I'm in Providence, I did get the decision faster...lol. Brown's only right down route 10 for me. Isn't that cool? I just have to drive about 3-5 minutes and I'm there! HAHA. I'm ecstatic!!! And also, I still have to send in my final transcript. I was at the University of Rhode Island for those who wanted to know....

OH and no there were no stats for how many were accepted...

Congrats buggz! did you get accepted for the fall or for the spring?

BUGGZ, how did they deliver the letter? Just regular united states postal service, or something like fedex etc.?

buggz, are you a freshman or sophomore at uri?

Um...the Brown materials I got were in a somewhat big envelope and it was first class mail. It doesn't say FedEx or anything...it's a normal Brown envelope. And I'm a Freshman, well, WAS a Freshman. I just survived my 1st year of college...now I'll be over at Brown.

Congrats, Buggz! Welcome to Brown 09!

congratulations!!!!, i wish i was in ur situation......seems like things aren't going my way these days.......

Well just keep your head up... :D

buggz, your h.s. stats are amazing. do you mind my asking what made you decide on uri over a higher-ranking school?

Well, first of all, I did NOT applied to Brown when I was a Senior in HS. I passed up that opportunity because I didn't think I was confident in myself to go for it (for something big, that is). URI was a safe choice, thought it was a good school with a decent tuition (and many people I knew went there as well) and so I went with what I thought would fit me at THAT time. However, after much discussion with advisors and such, I decided after a year @ URI was enough and so I wanted transfer out so I can be in a more diverse (both ethnically AND intellectually) environment. Also, URI is too country-like for me (it's way out in hicksville, no offense) and Brown is located in more of an urban type of area. I was foolish in passing up an opportunity like Brown. My fault.
