I'm being interviewed (international student)? Good? Bad?

Hey there, I've just been contacted by a Dartmouth alumnus for an interview...

Obviously, this is just an informal interview just like all the other Ivy League alumni interviews but apparently Dartmouth don't offer interviews unless they want to know something extra?

Is this a good sign/good opportunity? Or am I reading too much into it?

Thanks ppl.

I can’t comment if it’s “good” but it’s certainly not “bad”. Their wanting more information from you means you’re still under consideration – which is never “bad”.

Sorry to burst your bubble, interviews are not that important. They just use them to try and keep alumni involved.

Lol, no bubbles to be burst, I know that the alumni interviews play a minor role in the admissions process; however from what I gather not everyone gets an interview, which is why I asked.

From what I know, Dartmouth tries to indiscriminately interview every applicant. If someone doesn’t get an interview, it’s probably because there weren’t enough interviewers.
