On Aug. 8, just a couple more days, you will get your roomate info and move in date. I would wait to get that. Your move in date could be Sept 19,20 or 21. Get you ticket for that day or the day before and plan accordingly. If you are coming from really far away you can call them and see about changing your time to something more convenient (after Sept 19). I think they said that you could move in the evening of the day of your appt. if you can't be there at the exact time. I am sure there will be lots of info in the email that is supposed to go out on Aug. 8.

I think its dumb that they give you assigned days/times. They should make it a drop in check in so that people traveling outside of LA don't have to pull their hair about getting in at the right time.

thanks for that info Inquiringmind2, i need to give them a call.

they don't really care. I checked in early last time, and am planning to check in late this time. So yeah, jsut turn up with ur bruincard/no./id etc. they're not gonna turn u away. Just turn up within the move in time so not before 19th.

exactly what changeling said. they don't really care if you show up early or not. they primarily assign days and times to regulate the traffic flow around campus. they don't want everybody coming at the same time - traffic would be a much bigger mess than it already is.

Is August 8th a for-sure date for roommate info? I can't figure out if that's a date the school has released, or just a rumor that's spreading by word-of-mouth. Thanks!

August 8th is a for-sure date for roommate info.

lol it's a for-sure date until the school sends you a letter and says that the date will be two weeks later than it was originally.

that's what happened to us two years ago, anyway.

seriously? haha that's terrible

Does it matter finding out your roommates? You'll grow to hate them eventually.

if you're living far away I don't think it matters. There was no way I could meet up with my roommate O.o Though you could meet them before hand I guess, =P growing to hate them sooner = you can change roommate faster =P

That's why we have Facebook! :p

unless your roommate doesnt have a facebook!

Just so you know, you can change your move in date/time online if you don't like them.

How would that change who your roommates are?

By them, I meant the date and time. As for your roommates, uhh hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
