Title is self-explanatory, but basically I’m taking one class at a different high school this year (meaning that between 3rd and 4th period every other day I have to drive a mile down the road and go to a different building for AP Physics). I’m wondering if I should list the school I’m concurrently enrolled in on the Common App or not. I’m technically a registered student at the school, but only attend during that period. I feel like I should address it, especially since I’m getting one of my recs from my AP Physics teacher at that other school, but I don’t know how to put that into the App.
I'm concurrently enrolled in two high schools for senior year; how do I list that on the Common App?
Not sure why you would add that on your app? It’s just 1 class.
@ClarinetDad16 The app says to list “all high schools attended,” so I was unsure. Also, I assume recommenders are asked what school they teach at, so it’d get confusing if I had one teacher from a completely different school writing me a letter, right?
You could always call the folk at the Common App, they’d likely be able to get you a definitive answer.
Yes, you must list the other high school. Failure to do so can jeopardize your application. It should ask you if you’ve attended any other high schools and the dates you attended.
You can describe it in Additional Info if you can’t figure out how to list it (or add explanation there).
Okay, I’ll list it in the “high schools attended” section with appropriate dates, then clarify in the Additional Info section. Thanks!
You may be trying to reinvent the wheel. I’m guessing it has happened before in your HS. Ask your guidance counselor how is has been addressed in college applications when this has happened in the past. Ask if either your guidance counselor or AP Physics teacher (or both) could briefly describe the situation briefly as part of his/her letter of recommendation.
