I'm confused about application timeline?

I'm a homeschooled high school junior, interested in USNA and NROTC scholarsip options. I have not begun the application process, but I would like some help regarding the timeline.

My major concern is standardized testing dates. I have not yet taken the ACT or SAT, but I plan on signing up for the one in early June. If the selection boards meet in September, and my nominations need to be finished in September, is this enough time for my scores to be processed?

I don't want to send in an application for USNA, NROTC, or nomination sources without a test score, do I planned to submit the applications after I get my scores. Is this smart? Should I send them in anyway and hope they understand?

Also, just in general, when would do you think would be a good time to have everything finished (besides the medical and physical exams)?

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Aviatordream, You want to get apllication in as soon as possible. Although there’s more than one review board date the number of applications they review at each date is limited. I believe that all applications need to be completed in Dec and Test scores are a required portion of the application. Schedule a SAT or ACT asap. You can take them multiple times to combine your best scores.

Since you are only the equivalent of a junior in h.s. it is too early to apply now. The official academy websites recommends applying between April of your junior year in high school and January of your senior year.

Nominations are provided by your MOC, you need to check their website for the speicifc timing on when to apply, since it can vary by state. Typically, they issue their NOM’s at one time in the November-December timeframe for those currently applying.

Lots of good information can be found here:
[USNA Admissions - Steps for Admission](http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/steps.htm)

Many in your group have begun process applying to NASS which opened app 01 Jan. You have plenty of time …a year … to complete your application. Less for nominations. You need to review the step by step process outlined on the USNA website. You really need to get moving on the tests ,as a home schooled candidate absent any ranking data (I assume you’re #1 in your class … and the anchor as well!) But most tske the SAT and ACT multiple times to max their scores. Good luck. Go get 'em. No time to waste now. Disregard the item on timing and apps reviewed. PLENTY of time but much of this consumes the calendar.
