So I saw people here posted "church, scuba diving etc." as their ECs
and I was wondering then my guitar, piano, singing lesson are my ECs?
I mean I do a lot of things in my free time. I compose songs (for my bf :P) I play music. I watch tv, and take pix. so are these my ECs?

What is actual EC?

I know I can put AGS for sure, I'm a treasurer of AGS, and a member of Economics and Astronomy club

my major is economics by the way

an EC is anything you do productive outside of the classroom.

music is definitely considered an EC (well, i'm putting it down as i'm a percussionist).

that you dont get paid for.

then its a work.

Yes, you could include those as your EC's, but schools are mostly looking for extra-curriculars that pertain to your field of study. AGS Treasurer is definitely something you could put down. Also, if you could join Phi Theta Kappa that would also be great. UC's are more interested in your GPA so as long as you have a couple solid EC's you should be fine with a good gpa. Solid would be defined as: Leadership (treasurer), Service (volunteering), Scholarship (any projects you put together? Possibly a research project). Good luck! PS: UCLA is probably the PICKIEST of all UC's when it comes to Pre-Reqs and IGETC so complete everything.
