Im confused, contests = EC? plus awkward situation

Ok, so I did fairly well in academic competitions throughout high school. Recent results were OK, still managed top 1% in Canada in mathematics and I won Provincial Physics competition.

When I read some application forms, they have different sections for awards/honours and for extracurricular events. Where do I put contest stuff? Without them, my ECs seem pretty mediocre.

Ok awkward situation...
I heard on some school's application (e.g. MIT) you need to include AMC12 scores. I have yet to qualify for AIME and Im a junior (havnt gotten this year's result yet). Basically, Ive always been top 2% in Canada ever since high school started, but when colleges see my 90-ish AMC score, what will they think?

contests are not ECs…

you can add awards won from contests under awards, but not as an EC. You dont want to show them that youre only academic and one-sided.

You aren’t required to put the AMC score. Most students never take the test.
