So I recently took the SATs for the first time and received a 2050:

800 Critical Reading
550 Math
670 Writing

I found a SAT => ACT conversion website and it said that a 2050 was equal to a 31. Is it just me, or does a 31 look better to colleges than a 2050? 31 is within the ACT score range of all the schools i'm looking at (Brown, Amherst, Bowdoin).
I'm going to take the actual ACT June 9th so i guess i'll see how it goes. I love the fact that the ACT is only 25% math as compared to the SAT which is 50% math. As you can tell from my SAT scores.. i'm not so hot at math :)

Those scores add up to 2020...

But yeah, if I were you I'd just study SAT math and get it up...it's the 2nd easiest part of the test to prep for (the hardest is CR, but you've owned that..)

Hahahah if I couldn't even add up my score right (and that was WITH a calculator ... somehow) then i think it will take A LOT of prepping to get my math score up. I guess it really is just a question of learning the material though. I'll spend a lot of time studying over the summer. Thanks for the advice! So is the ACT somehow looked down upon or just not as generally recognized?

No, it's treated just as the SAT is by colleges...I just think it's a poorly designed test. =P
