Colleges I am hoping to apply to: Cornell University, RIT, St Lawrence University, Colgate, UB, NYU, Columbia

I know there are things I need to work on. I just need advice, encouragement and motivation. Thanks!

give us ur gpa dont give us all ur grades we're not here to sit on ur asses and find out ur gpa. And we need ACT or SAT scores. ur thread is missing two of hte omst important pieces of information to gauging ur chances and what u need to do.

well how interesting...190 to 165 hMMMM : P TOO MUCH TVVV??? lol jk im looking over ur grades, alot of b's a few c's. Ur gpa is probably not too great. On ur list u have 2 Ivy leagues, competitive schools in NYU and Colgate.
Your SAT or ACT will have to be equivalent to 2200-2250ish and your exc are all related to school. Go out, show colleges u gave back to ur community, and show ur passion for ur major by doing an intern in that respective area.

Well, that GPA is really cutting it low on the schools you're applying to (that I'm familiar with: Cornell, RIT, NYU)... With only the information, you've given us, I'd rank Cornell as a far far reach, and RIT/NYU as reaches.

As flong said, you need to tell us your SAT/ACT scores.... Unless they're stellar, sorry to say, but the three colleges I mentioned are going to be quite difficult. As for the other schools, I've no idea, sorry =[

Haha yea I actually never watch TV during the school year except for news. I will say that the days that I took the PSATs were not the best time of my life.. The Bs & Cs came from alot of stress with family and peers. This year I plan to do better however my family is adjusting to an incident that happened recently. That's why I'm very nervous meh. I wish my school calculated GPA throughout high school. That would relieve alot of stress. Right now, I feel like I'm walking through high school blind.

By the way, your username is very catchy ^_^

Yea now that I think about it, if I get As for the rest of the quarters then that should bring it up to approximately 3.5-3.6.

Yea I was aware that the colleges that I have in mind might not be the best :-/ I had alot of potential and things got screwed up with stuff at home and with peers that really really distracted me. It seems like every year there's always something bad that distracts me from my grades. That's why I've been so worried recently. Sorry. I feel like a goof for making this post.

Your (P)SAT scores and GPA, combined with your less-than-stellar EC/work experience, would not AT THIS POINT get you into most of those schools. If you work your ass off this year, take $1,000 SAT prep courses from Kaplan or similar program, and volunteer like crazy, you might have a shot, since colleges love upward trends and "self-realization"--but even then, it's very unsure.
