seeing as it's MMW and it's required and this is for the "good" professor AND there are open spots anywhere ... i'm pretty iffy about your situation.

i'd say to stick it out until the end of week 1, but attend the lectures of the backup professor as well so if you have to transfer, it won't be that bad. (this might also be difficult if you have to buy duplicate reading material)

Getting in off an MMW waitlist is pretty tough. In my experience they only let the first person off the waitlist, if they let anyone in at all. Chances are you will be forced to move to an open section.

You might want to switch now so that you have a choice over which section you are in. But you could also wait it out on the waitlist for a while and see if anyone drops as they move their schedule around.

Wow I just checked up on the MMW1 classes and suddenly EVERY SINGLE SECTION is waitlisted and I'm pretty sure there's still a day's worth of people who haven't started registering yet. Since EVERYONE's waitlisted, then does that mean they'll add more spots? If so, I'm golden. :-)

They'll either add more spots or create new sections. I can't remember, MMW 1 seems so long ago sigh :)

hey adding more spots would be good too. do they just do it and expect you to find out for yourself?

I never have had that problem so I'm not sure. Go to the section your signed up for on the first day, (obviously),and your TA will ask who is on the waitlist and let you know what the MMW office is doing to handle it.

Enjoy not having to write MMW papers while you still can!!
