If you are willing to consider other parts of the country, take a look at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. An excellent school which loves soccer and has a lot of business majors. Indiana University in Bloomington & Northeastern Univ. in Boston are also excellent alternatives, all three of which offer generous merit awards and/or financial aid.

It's too late for me to apply anywhere else now. I was SET on Binghamton and I was nearly sure I would get in. Someone in my school, who I know to be somewhat inactive was accepted about a week ago with a 90 GPA, few or no AP classes and a 1190 SAT score.

I don't know what I did wrong. I can't put into words how ****ed off I am, but I am extremely upset....

What the hell?
I know of people with much worse stats who got in.
However, the school of management is harder to get into than the other schools in Binghamton.
Best of luck to you though , remember you were only deferred!

There is still time to apply to Indiana (rolling admissions), and Trinity Univ. (Feb. 1). Even Northeastern accepts apps. until the fifteenth of this month. Lake Forest College in Illinois offers economics and has a gorgeous campus with a May 1 deadline. Where else did you apply?

Maybe you or your counselor should call and ask what you can do to help your application. Also, they might be willing to explain why you were deferred, and you can work on that. I think showing interest will help you. Good luck!!

As a person who applied to Binghamton regular decision, this makes me rather worried. I'm SHOCKED that with those scores you were not directly offered admission, but you will most likely be admitted under regular.

Flashpatch, I would send your mid-year reports. Maybe another letter of recommendation. And you'll probably get in regular decision. What's meant to be, will be, is my attitude.
