I'm desperate, someone's opinion? PLEASE.

So I was deferred ED from Princeton. Now I'm going through mental anguish as I try to guess where I'm gonna get in. So I know you guys do this all the time, but I'm really nervous and I would love it if you could make some predictions on my case. Many, many thanks.

OTHER FACTS
- I lived in France and attended a French school for 2 years when I was younger so I bring that experience to the table.
- I have been working with computers since I was about 6 yrs old and attached my computer resume to the app.
- I speak French and Spanish fluently (5s on both AP exams), and I speak Italian and Arabic a little (self-taught)
- My classes are pretty much as challenging as they come at my school.
- I have several academic awards for English and History.
- My intended major is physics.
- I have work experience as a programmer and as a lab assistant at a Yale physics lab. The professor I worked for in the latter case wrote me an amazing rec which was sent to all the colleges.
- Essays: all pretty strong.

So here are the schools I'm worried about:
- Harvard
- Yale
- U. Penn (I applied to Jerome Fisher M&T, and if I don't get into that, Wharton)
- Dartmouth
- Columbia

So, thanks again for all your help in easing my anxiety (which is caused by my ignorance).

Recjected from all, sorry 'bout that...

Be nice college dude. I think you'll get into Dartmouth, but I hope you are also applying to some other schools.

Yeah I agree with Samp. You'll hopefully get into Dartmouth. The others are a lottery, but you are competitive. Ever reconsider taking the I's? A 1480 is great, but I think you can increase your shot tremendously with a 1550+.

u seem like u have a reeeeally good shot at all the schools u listed in my opinion............but I do agree w/ Samp.........u should always apply to other schools......... just in case u don't get accepted to the schools u really want to attend u can always go to some LAC that feeds right into it....OR go to some state school where u won't even have to pay for ur education.......

ur fine, ur in

Hmm...why Wharton with an intended major in physics? Wharton only offers business majors.

You certainly have a shot at all of our schools, but you really should have a safety or two. For you a safety would be a school that takes more kids than they reject or perhaps a 40% accept rate. You have to understand, that the laws of probability and statistics do not hold for eilte college admissions, even for kids with perfect stats. I have seen kids rejected from all of such schools. They then go with their next set of choices. It still is not too late to add a few school such s Uwisconsin or U Delaware or Pitt --perhaps all three. You would probably get a nice merit award, and though you are likely to get into some those listed choices, it is nice to be covered just in case. You will otherwise really be scr

GGROUPS, you have applied to 6 universities. All of them have acceptance rates under 20%. 4 of the 6 schools you applied to have acceptance rates under 14%. That's college application suicide. You have no matches and no safeties. Good matches would have been schools like Cornell, Northwestern, Chicago and Johns Hopkins. Good safeties would have been schools like Michigan, Wisconsin etc... In Physics, Cornell, Chicago, Michigan and Wisconsin are all better than some of the schools you applied to.

Anyway, maybe you applied to other schools but did not list them above. I hope that's the case. Even then, since you applied to 6 schools, odds are, you will get an acceptance...maybe more, but even perfect students should hedge their bets.

Yes indeed, I do have safeties/less-competitive-non-safeties:
Brown
Duke
Georgetown
University of Virginia
Vanderbilt

My question was, of those first 6 that are more competitive, which (if any) you all, as seasoned college-admissions-people, thought I might get into. Just curiosity talking.

Well, at least you have Vanderbilt in there. That is the only school that can be considered a true match/safety. Georgetown, Duke and Brown are matches at best for most excellent students...possibly even mild reaches. UVA is a match/safety if you are an in-stater, but for an out of stater, you are a match/reach.

At any rate, you will get acceptances, but I would say that 7 of the 11 schools you applied to are reaches and 3 others are matches in one form or another.

Win any academic awards or anything of the such? Any activities related to your future major? What are your essays like? Just wondering.

Yeah, you definetely have a good shot at the other ones you listed, I think you're in at least half of those places. Why did you pick Wharton as your backdrop for M&T? Just curious.

The scores are gr8, but doesnt his EC's lack in numbers? I know its all about dedication and he does show it by showing his interest in CS and his passion for languages. But do you all think those are enuff?

I think he has the EC's that show he's not a total nerd, which is all he needs. His school record is excellent and SAT's are not low enough to be a serious disadvantage. I don't think any of his schools are far reaches.

My essays are pretty good, about certain personal experiences that have influencd my direction in life.

Yeah I have academic awards for stuff I've written. Worked at a phys lab over the summer, which I hope will help because I'm going to major in physics.

The reason, thoughtprocess, that I used Wharton is because I would go to Wharton and have a really interesting experience studying business and physics and combining the two. It just sounds interesting to me.

There are a lot of good schools out there, I'd be happy as a little clam at every one I applied to.

Meh... even with Vanderbilt (though probably) I'd still say you need a safety school

seems like ur college choices are pretty hard to get into. Think about sum good safteies
