I'm desprate I think I'm stupid :'(

My test is on 10th of OCT and I don't feel I'm ready for the SAT. I have never studied Math in English I just read some books and my English is ok but classic English is poor, my vocabulary is mostly used in day to day English not in essays and my life has turned miserable I'm always nervous and I have night mares every night. I bought the barron's book and the CR sections is going to kill me!!

what should I do??? :'(
although I'm an excellent student in Math ( ARABIC ), scored 73 in TOEFL ibt :'( and will start my senior year in OCT, my self esteem keeps descending and my friends have noticed that recently :'(
I really wish I hadn't booked a seat but that date was the most suitable :'(

waiting for you to save me because I'm drowning :'(

If you have questions message me.

Read a few books over the summer, get Direct Hits vocabulary - it’s really helpful. Also get these famous novels by kaplan that contain SAT definitions of difficult words on the parallel page.

Buy the blue collegeboard book for the SAT, do practice sections and review your answers using the testmasters answer explanation booklet. With persistence you will see your score rise.

Studying for the SAT really isn’t stressful - it just requires a bit of work each day.

You could try taking a deep breath… and stop using so many frowny faces.

… or you could try the Xiggi thread. Either way.

Thank you all.

Sci-Fry:
I’ve calmed down, I went to the bookstore close to my house after having a nice cup of coffee from star box, I got a novel by Kaplan it’s called the ring of mcallister It sounds like a horror book but it was the only novel available, the BB was sold out I’ll look for it in somewhere else tomorrow… thanks again!

Many thanks teddyayalew for that useful link loved your post !!!
tomorrow I’ll have a visit to every bookstore around here and I’ll buy them all!!

Bigb14: deep breath has been a very effective cure lately and will stop using my  after I get at least 1 CR question right. I promise!
Could you pls post the Xiggi thread link??

Before I got into college I felt the same way. I never felt prepared enough to do well. My advice: read daily and do practice problems for math. For critical reading, I would try and do all of the BB passages as they are really close to the actual test. Also, subscribe to the New Yorker or Economist. For math, the best plan of attack would be to take sections out everyday and do one. You don’t have to take the whole test in one sitting if you want to get better quickly. You just need to constantly do 1 or 2 sections a day which takes around 50 mins. If you find yourself needing some help with math I can help you. Just post some stuff at my spot below.

Honestly, I’ve never heard of the Economist, know a lot about the New Yorker though.
Thanks skoodu for this great advice, it didn’t occur to me before. Now subscription is done!
