I'm doomed

I was randomly browsing through Collegeboard, and did that "college compare/match-up" thing... I searched UCB, and stumbled across the UW gpa statistics for 2008-2009 Fall admits:

" * 93% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
* 3% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
* 2% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
* 1% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
* 1% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 "

Now for most CC'ers this wouldn't frighten you...but it feels like a huge blow to me. I would fall in that 3% category, unfortunately. I knew UCB + UCLA emphasized gpa HEAVILY, but not THIS heavily ... :( The last gleam of hope has faded, my friends.

That drop from 3.75 to the next group below it seems a little drastic. I wouldn't let that scare you. I had an UW gpa of 3.68 if that makes you feel a little better :)

My UW GPA was also ~3.6.

doesn't berkeley use the UC gpa for admission..?

Your weighted GPA is much more important than your UW GPA. So along as your weighted is at least a 4.3, you'll probably be fine.

I know 4.3 is a little much, if you look at this:

University of California - Admissions

It says the average high school GPA is 4.18. I assume that means a weighted UC GPA. Mine was around 3.9

^did you get in? i'm asking becuz my gpa is pretty much similar to yours (3.65 uw and 3.8 uc).

Well his location does say Berkeley '11...

oooh right. haha i'm such a tard.
