I'm dreading my next college roommate

I've had three college roommates so far. All three of them have been introverted. So we haven't gotten along that well. I like to go out and be social, and they stay in. I'm going to Prague for a semester and I'm going to be stuck with another roommate. I'm dreading it because my past three roommates have been... well, frankly losers.

Normally I don't mind anti social behavior because it allows me to study. But since I will be in Prague I will be going out at night and enjoying the different culture. I don't know what kind of roommate I will have, but I pray it will be one who likes to go out and have fun too.

I just think my living situation for the next 4 months is going to be painful. Why is this happening to me? Am I the only college student that has overnight guest over? Can someone break this down for me? I don't understand why college does this. I haven't meet anyone that I can have a lasting relationship with by randomly selecting a stranger to share my bedroom.

B/c it’s cheaper to put two people in a room…

Why’s it matter if your roommate is introverted or a loser? I tend to stay in my dorm room, but when my roommate asks to have the room to himself for a while, it’s not a big deal. A random lottery isn’t going to give you your soulmate, but it’ll probably give you someone reasonable if you just attempt to communicate.

Rent. An. Apartment.

Dude, your 27 you do not need to be in the dorms. Find an appartment already <.<

This is his third thread on the topic…dude seriously you don’t act like you are 27 at all. You don’t like dorms then rent an apartment, not sure how many people have to say that for you to get it.

You sound like the next Amanda Knox. Only in Prague.

I’m not exactly sure how you’re going to win over a girl when she finds out you’re 27 and an undergrad who can’t afford an apartment. Winner there ;)

My 19 year old friends have apartments dude its time

I know the college roomate issue may seem important to you now, but I am 55 years old, and cannot even remember the names of many of my college roomates anymore.

Just wanted to give you some “perspective”.

Perhaps you should live off campus with friends of your own choosing.

Lmao 10char

Thanks for your advice guys. I’m not able to get an apartment in Prague because it is a school run program and they assign rooms. I requested a single three months in advance but they said it was first come first serve. I’m upset that I didn’t get the single. I even told them I had a medical snoring condition last minute because of how terrible I feel.

I will definitely get a single when I come back from Prague.

Uh just learn to live with it? I’m not sure what’s so bad about having a roommie who stays in, just be upfront and arrange some sort of thing for having guests over.

…So what’s the problem here? Why does it bother you that your roomates like to stay in? As long as they’re not messing with your stuff then what does it matter? Do you need them to go out with you? SMH, I just don’t really see why your roomate being an introvert changes your life.

Well I find I am able to work together with a roommate who goes out with me. We are both having fun together so we are willing to compromise more frequently for each other. The introverted roommate is distant and it’s difficult to ask for favors from someone that is closed off.

It’s a bit judgmental of you to call your past 3 roommates losers because they were a bit introverted and didn’t want to hang out with their 27 year old undergrad roommate…

Some of us hit the roommate jackpot and get super lucky (this guy) others don’t (your roommates  ) but its part of life.

Maybe you’ll get a n awesome foreign dude and you can go get trashed and wreck Prague together

Does it effect how well you do in school? Doubt it. Don’t make a big deal about it or just rent an apartment.

Dorito you’re a jerk and you hurt my feelings.
