Im dying too, probably more cause I physically sent in my app over two months ago but my recs and transcript werent in til 5 weeks ago, still havent heard

I am dying also!! I am out of state and my app was completed around October 5th and I still haven't found out. Why is it taking so long?!

yeah.. i did oct 28 or something.. not even a confirmation

Nykchisox, November 5 is late, but it is not too late. You obviously have a chance, but your chances would have been much better had you applied in late September or early October.

PMAN, it takes Michigan 4-8 weeks to respond, so do not worry. You should hear back from Michigan before Christmas and given your stats (1470 on the SAT and 3.85 unweighed GPA), I would be surprised if you weren't accepted.

AndLuck, October 5 was 7 weeks ago. Michigan takes 8, sometimes 9 or 10 weeks to respond. So do not panic. You will hear back from Michigan by Mid December.

RANI, call the admissions office and ask them directly if they got all the needed information to process your application form. Sometimes, Michigan forgets to sen d a confirmation, but take no chances.

Good luck to you all...and keep us posted.

thanks alexandre - how are you so all-knowing?

they should have all my stuff by now, but not necessarily processed. Is it gonna be too late for me to get in? (1390, 3.6uw) rest of stats on another page

I'm dying as well. Sent my application on Oct 4th and they said my app was complete soon after that. I'm starting to think a deferment is imminent...

Rani, did you call Michigan? Did they receive all your documents? I am not all-knowing. But I am familiar with Michigan's admissions process. I have helped dozens of students apply there.

DougHyde, your numbers are good. What id your Michigan GPA (10th and 11th grade, all As count as 4.0, all Bs count as 3.0 and all Cs count as 2.0)? What is your class rank and did you take any AP classes and/or AP exams.

SpyderSport, if I recall, you are Indian (Asian) and in-state. Can you refresh my memory...what were your stats like?

Yep, Asian Indian (not that it matters for college admissions purposes. lol), In-state, 3.5 GPA, 30 ACT, 1340 SAT, challenging curriculum with tons of APs and Honors, lots of ECs (pres/founder of 1 club), good recs and essays.

Don't be so sure you are going to be defered. There is a good chance you will be admitted automatically. You should hear back in the next week or so. Your GPA is slightly lower than the norm at Michigan, but your ACT is strong. Good luck and keep us posted.

Okay,

Nykchisox, pman, AndLuck, ranisparkle, iamdoughyde, and spydersport824, would you let us all know when you get the word? My D is waiting to hear, too.

I called the admissions office today because some people that applied a few weeks after me were accepted last saturday. I applied on October 4th so today was 9 weeks. The admissions office said that it takes 12 weeks from the day your application is "complete," and mine was complete on October 19th. So I should hear by January 11th. Hope this helps others who were also freaking out about UMich.

Yeah, I just called them today too, and I sent my app in on Oct. 7. They said it wasn't "complete" until Oct. 27 (probably because I had to send in a proof of residency thing) and that it will take 12 weeks.

ur dying? think about me! i applied august 19th, and they received all my materials by august 23rd!!! and im an anxious person as it is......

Remember that Michigan got a really big freshman class last fall. It was much bigger than they expected and bigger than they wanted. They don't want to do that again, so this year they will likely be careful about how many people they accept early in the "season". Schools admit slower when they need more time to estimate how many applications they're going to end up with!

It doesn't mean you won't get in (necessarily)--it just means that you might hear a little later than you might have expected.

Well guys... I'm in!!!

i heard they wont be sending out any letters in mid and late december cause of the holidays and to expect to hear from them mid january. (hope this isnt the case!)

Well, I got my acceptance letter today so apparently you're in luck (however, it also depends on when you applied, etc. as well as their schedule for he admissions in your area)!

I got deferred today. :( I know I won't be accepted off of the waitlist either, because my Senior GPA is less than outstanding so far...
