Rice

I think it looks like I do too much but I was actually very involved in everything that I did.

For Rice, I have an interview will attend a open house in ATL and do an over-nighter

Essays
one will highlight my experience in Africa (which I think is prob the same way anyone would feel after going there, nothing too special accept the experience)

other how I have over come all the trouble and turmoil in my life and not let that stop me

So any chance??

can anyone help me, I'm sooo nervous. I REALLY want to go. Should I apply ED or not??

I mean, I'm to the point where I cant even sleep because I'm thinking about Rice

You should definitely apply ED, it will raise your chances. I think if you apply ED you will make it into Rice.

Good luck and I know how you feel. The stress of college admissions is pervasive.

I'm no expert, but I'll help you out where I can.

Your ECs are stellar, some of the best i've seen, and if memory serves Rice is religiously affiliated.

You plan on mentioning your NYLF I see? Are you going to PYIC by any chance? I thought about putting NYLC and GYLC, but opted against it.

but back on track.

A lot of your ECs show ambition, and genuine desire, thats something they cant teach and they know it. Your SATs are a bit low for Rice it seems, but if you play your ECs off right in your essay, I would guess you would stand a decent chance.

I hope this was a bit helpful, i know how stressful it can be, i'm goin through it too.

the essays will either save you or....yeah

no pressure, eh?

haha just kidding, but seriously, those essays should make you stand out :)

bump.... more. I'm so nervous

You've clearly had it tough. You have the EC's and the character and probably deserve Rice, but your scores leave things up in the air. I'd say a six or seven in ten chance at Rice.

I hope you get in, though.

Chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/585120-i-m-applying-yale-tomorrow-so-chance-me.html

Do my chances improve if I got a 630 on US History and a 750 in Bio. Especially since I want to double major in bio and psych and minor in chem

Just wanted to correct something... blueliner2112, Rice has never had any religious affiliation.

stop worrying....you're black...
