Im failing AP Physics 1 How badly did I screw up my grade

I decided to take AP Physics 1 my junior year and I have a 64 (without 10 points) and finals are just next week. And I know that my chances of getting it up are really slim, so how much does that affect me when applying to colleges? I had all A’s and B’s so far and this would be my first failing class, and I have a GPA of 3.8. and SAT of 1300 (which I’ll probably take again). Also, Should I drop the class next semester?

You need to talk to the teacher ASAP for suggestions. If you do fail the class, you would be foolish probably to take An F is a big deal in an academic area on college applications. When could you retake the class and earn a good grade to help redeem the current grade?

I agree with @zannah

This is very serious, and junior year is the worst possible time this could happen. The semester is almost over, but if I were you, I would contact the teacher for some emergency extra credit/grade remediation opportunities so I can finish with a D at the very least. An F in a core class essentially blackballs you from an extensive amount of colleges, so your chances of getting into a school of your choice have been dramatically compromised.

And if you feel as if you are failing because you can’t handle the material, definitely don’t take the second semester.

I can not retake this class I would have to take CP Physics and I asked the teacher for extra credit and he said there is none and that he will take out our lowest test grade and replace it with an assignment we did in the beginning of the year on (which I got a 98 on )that is the only thing he can do. And for the second semester what are my chances of doing better than the first semester because if I can do better second semester does that help my chances when Applying. Also, would colleges still want me for dropping a class that I failed? Doesn’t it show them that I give up easily and that I cant handle college classes?

Actually IDK if I can retake the class Ill ask
