I am struggling with math and I have a tutor but even with a lot of help, I have failing grades in all my homework’s, test and quizzes so far. I put a lot of effort in my tests and homework’s and I still don’t understand the material. Is it worth it to drop the class? Am I stupid for finding this math class really hard for me even with help? I know I have to retake the class. Will I still have summer vacation if I fail one class?

Dropping the class is typically MUCH better than failing the class - just make sure you remain full time status with number of credits,
-
Figure out why you are failing the class. Most kids failing college classes because of effort or commitment but that doesn’t sound like it is the case for you. Are you making a big leap from HS math to college math - eg Algebra to Calculus skipping the in between material?
-
Figure out if you need this math class for your curriculum. Consider a different math class or remedial math to get your fundamentals where they need to be to take this class.
If you drop/withdraw, make sure you haven’t passed the withdraw deadline! This deadline is typically the midpoint of the semester for which you can still receive a W grade, and possibly get a partial refund. However, past this deadline and withdrawing will give you a WF, which is equivalent to failing.
Keep in mind, however, at the end of the term it is ultimately up to your professor to give you a W or WF, regardless of the withdraw timeline. Since you are currently failing, have you talked to your professor?
It sounds like your grade may be beyond repair. Drop it before it drags down your GPA. What class is this? Is it required for your major? Even if you drop it, you can take it again later.
There’s a resource out there you may not have tried.
Take a look at teachertube.com It’s the teacher version of youtube. You can enter a topic and find a video on many topics.
Maybe someone else’s spin on the same topic will help, with the added benefit that you can replay the videos as often as needed.
Again, not knowing the course makes it hard to give specific advice. Do you still have your high school math notebooks? Would the info there-- basic factoring quadratic equation type of stuff-- be of any help?
If you do drop the course, would you consider taking your math credits at your local community college this summer? Would they transfer? Perhaps being on home turf, with just one course on your plate, would make a difference?
