I'm failing my statistics class!

I'm a freshman and so far all my classes beside one are great. I'm getting good grades, making friends and really enjoying this school. My problem is that I'm failing my stats class. I study about an hour everyday between classes, I read the lesson and go over the home work and if I don't understand something I go to the math center (only went once) we took two tests so far and I got a 55 on that test, it was sooo hard! He goes over easy problems in class and our home work but on the test it is ridiculously hard, we never went over questions that hard in class. The class average was 56 and he refused to curve it he said its our fault not his (note: a 74.5 is a B in his class) so I started studying more and then second test came and I though I should get an A, but when I got the test it was worst then the first I was so confused by his questions and If Someone asks for him to explain Better he says no its not fair for the class if I give you special treatment go back and try to solve it on your own, honestly I did not study for the first test but the second one I spent 3 weeks studying all day but I know I did bad on that test! Can someone give me tips? Anything that would help me do better? I don't want to fail, it's just so hard, watching yourself work hard and in the end don't do well!!! Oh and on the day before the second test he was trying to go over 2 more complex lessons so they would be on the test but everyone complained and he only put one

First test*

I think you need to go to your math center more often. Just going once isn’t really going to help you. I know said they didn’t really understand the problems either, but maybe you should ask one of the tutors if they had him as a professor before or if your school has a facebook website maybe you should ask someone on there if they had him before and how they passed (assuming they did).

Can you use a graphing calculator in that class? It would make the dry heaves of statistics more pleasant. So much more so that I actually considered majoring in statistics! ;)

Know your theory! Know your formulae! And most importantly, know the jargon of the discipline. Also basic stats is easier that most college math and science classes. A hard nosed teacher will make the subject seem hard by using confusing wording and different names for different concepts. Don’t be bullied! If you know all the jargon and formulae then you can’t be fooled. GL
