I'm fantastically bored and feel like having my dreams shattered.

You look like a great candidate. Don’t be demoralized if you don’t get into MIT on the first round. I know lots of students who were accepted after being deferred in the early round. I think playing the church organ is a cool thing and counts as volunteer work.

lol i would say you’re in at mit 99%…they dont reject many MOPers

i think they will really like ur math-addiction (lol). most nerds like that (no offense intended) at my school tend to get in.

now the only thing ur lacking is volunteer hours haha. most people have like..200+…its practically a requirement cuz everyone does them. though it became trivial due to the fact that everyone does it, its actually important becuz it shows that you care about community and what not. but wutevs =/

Ohio State (I can’t really mess that up, can I?)-safety
Case Western Reserve University (I hear it’s not hard to get in)-match/safety
Now things get a little harrier…
College of William and Mary-no clue
Northwestern University-high matc/low reach
And now just-for-laughs:
Duke University-low r each
Stanford University-crapshoot
Brown University-low reach
Caltech-low reach
MIT-low reach
Yale-crapshoot
Harvard-crapshoot
Princeton-crapshoot

i honestly think u have a shot at MIT. =D

can u chance me too?

“Nice stat. Did your parents go to college? If not, that should also help. If your parents make less than 60,000 and if you should get into those schools you should be able to get a full ride.”

would you care to expound on this? both my parents are high school dropouts, but they eventually went to college, my mom with an associates degree and my dad didn’t graduate I believe. i’m fairly certain that they won’t be making 60k this year (2008) and i’ll be applying for the fall 09 semester. does this help me in any way? my stats aren’t nearly as impressive as the thread’s creator, but i’ve been told I can get into UMich…

Thanks everybody. I have a pretty good idea of where I stand now and don’t think I need any more chancing.

omgitsover9000: I was hoping somebody would tell me that. But I’ve heard strange stories of IMOers being rejected from Harvard, so strange things can happen… let’s just hope they don’t happen to me! ;)
