D18 took his proctored PSAT test today (the one official one) and scored 1500:-) He missed 5 questions total. The only math question he missed was because he miss read the question, hope he’s learned his lesson on that one! He seems to understand why he missed the others except for one. I think he’ll be ready to take the New SAT in March. He felt that Khan was good practice for the practice test. I hope the real new PSAT/SAT is similar to the practice test.
Glad to know about that. What resources did D18 use? I’d like to help my little sister with them. Thanks!
He used www.khan.org/sat (free) and a local prep class that uses the Blue Book (the new one). I think Khan was the most helpful. He went with the local prep class because he needed some basic test taking skills. He was homeschool until 9th grade and had no experience with standardized tests (timing, filling in the bubble, etc…) so the prep class was helpful for that. Other than that they just went through two of the practice SATs during the classes, the biggest advantage in taking the class was the option of taking timed, proctored, practice tests. He’ll take the two remaining practice SATs before the March SAT. For learning test content and style Khan was very helpful.
Thank you so much, I’ll be trying this with my little sister! Glad to know it worked
