So we moved to the U.S about 4 years ago and we came to Houston b/c our family lived here. I started as a Freshman in Spring High School and that was my first school and grade level in the United States. The thing is that when I came here, I didn't know anything about the school system and they basically screwed me over by giving me all regular classes in my freshman year and most in my sophomore year. I had to find everything on my own and I hope it's not too late. I currently have a 3.8/4.0 weighted GPA and a 4.7/5.0 unweighted GPA because I took 2 DC classes and all pre-ap classes except Spanish this year.

I really want to attend UT-Austin or Texas A&M, UT in my first choice but I doubt I’ll make into top 7% :(

My stats (As of 11th grade): Unweighted GPA: 3.8/4.0, Weighted GPA: 4.75/5.0
Rank: 91/766, 11.8% (I was in top 17% in my sophomore year and brought it to 11.8% in my current junior year.)
Took US History and English 3 Dual Credit, a lot of Pre-Ap classes and planning to take 2 AP and 2 DC classes next year, which will be my senior year.
Started working this year, 15/20 hours per week, planning to continue work and maybe increase hours to 25/30.

Extracurricular activities:
• Accountant for Multi-Cultural Club, 3 years
• NHS
• Member of Student Council
• Ambassador of our school’s S.T.E.M academy
• Member of Science Club
Not a lot of volunteer work because I don’t have a car and my parents are busy with work etc.
Got my name in school’s Honor Roll about 5+. Received two certificates for good academic performance. (If that counts.)

I don’t think I will have a good SAT, around 1500-1600 maybe 1700. (Not that good of a test taker ;().
Aiming for 27+ in ACT.

I think that if I keep doing good, by my senior year, I can be in top 10% and get auto-admit to A&M which I really want. I really wanted to attend UT but I don’t think that will happen.

My major will be Engineering, have not decided for the specific field yet but leaning towards Petroleum because I do live in Texas and earning a degree from A&M or UT will also be a bonus. Not 100% sure on the major specific but it will be a field in engineering. Please let me know your thoughts on my stats and every opinion and advice is appreciated, really looking for some help here.

Thank you all!!
