Can you guys please help me? I'm a California resident,a junior, and super worried about getting into college. I have 4 Ds on my transcript. They are all in a-g classes. I'm making up 2 this summer but I don't know how I'll be able to make up the other 2 before applications. They are in English 10 Honors and APUSH. I read something that said if you do so well on your SAT or pass the AP test then that covers it but then today my counselor said that a lot of the schools are so impacted that they don't take that. I don't know what to do guys. What do you all suggest I do?

I have to say that California has a really excellent community college system, a bit overimpacted, right now, but excellent nonetheless. It might be a good idea for you to look into how that works, exactly, since the system is set up to facillitate transfer to a four year in state university.

However, it would seem to me that it is getting increasingly difficult to get into the state schools, and you may have to look out of state if you are insistent on a four year school at the outset.

Go back in time and don’t sign up for APUSH. lol
No, but seriously, SAT, SAT, SAT, you should de studying hours every day until October. It’s the one and only thing that’s going to help you at this point, don’t hear any crap about EC’s. College classes during the summer will help too.

Thanks all of you! I contacted the UC application help and the lady said that I can stick with my original plan as long as I have passed 11a-g classes with a C(which I will after this summer). I took my SATs last month and I should get my scores on valintines day. My first is actually UNR which I can still get into but all my backups are CSUs. And believe me I wish I hadn’t taken APUSH or English 10 honors. I only took them because my mom was saying that I was lazy for not taking them.

thanks for the update. Try not to stress too much, but do work hard. Things have a way of working themselves out if you just put the work in. Good luck.
