Im freaking out. help

i have a 3.5 for biology and some pretty good essays and pretty decent ec and a 1550 SAT… im in for ucr already but i really want ucsc my sister goes there… other people at my school have been getting in and its just stressing out so hard.

me too! i have a 3.9 and a 1250. my friend who has the same stats as me got in, so i’ve been super confused on this whole admission process so far. i havent heard alot of people who’ve applied talking about not getting admitted yet so its comforting to hear that im not alone  i read on another forum that march 15th is supposed to be when regular admissions are sent out.

is that 3.5 your UC GPA, unweighted, or otherwise?

Here is what UCSC looks for in their application review. Also comparing stats between applicants is an exercise in futility since no two applicants will be alike. That said, I believe there are still more acceptances to come so hang in there.

  • SANTA CRUZ

  • Considered: Volunteer work, Work experience
  • Note: Test scores, GPA in required subjects most important. Personal statement very important.
  • Admission Selection: Important Note for Prospective Engineering Students: Choice of major does not influence the selection of first-year students, except for those applicants interested in a major offered by the Jack Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE). Freshmen who are interested in a BSOE program should be sure to indicate a BSOE proposed major. Students who do not indicate a BSOE program or who apply as undeclared might not be able to pursue a BSOE program.
