I took the January 2011 SAT without any prep, and my score was 1580. So i began studying during the summer and I recently took the November 19 SAT. Im scared that Collegeboard might cancel my scores if I get a 400 point increase-an increase i believe i attained. So Im freaking out i cant afford to have my scores canceled.

What makes you think your scores will be canceled?

An increase that large will likely cause the CB to flag and investigate your scores. However, if they find no evidence that you cheated, your scores will not be cancelled. They will be reported normally without any evidence of them ever being flagged, though there may be some delay.

If you did cheat, though, pray that the CB’d investigation doesn’t uncover that fact.

Which is why I am wondering why OP thinks the scores will be cancelled…

They won’t catch you if you cheated. It’s a very unlikely possibility. Unless you were a complete dumbass, and you copied an entire section from an 800 scorer.

…which the OP perhaps is…

Don’t worry .
I took May 2011 test , Studied my a s s off and took the Oct test and had a 390 points increase , CB were okay with it and My scores were sent to colleges without any Problems.
Just Relax (:

I took the Nov 19th test too, in Subject tests though.

How do people cheat??? That interests me. There seems to be no way to cheat.

@klausman
Don’t worry about it too much
400 points increase in 10 months (Jan->Nov) is not suspicious at all, at least to me.
If one studies diligently during intervening period, one “should” have increased at least 400 points or perhaps more;

@eatlovepray
Hmmm how do people cheat…
probably they share their answers during the break to see if they answered the problems correctly? or… well… how do people cheat X( haha going to next/previous section!?

@ UPenns thanks for comforting me. BTW, @akashdip and alamemom, I DID NOT CHEAT. I studied rigorously on a daily basis for 3 months. Anyways, I think 400 point increase in 10 months shouldn’t raise suspicion.

It’s impossible to earn like 400 points that way. College board should stop being suspicious.

considering the popularity, should i start a thread on “how to cheat in SAT exams”? :D

^ Lol, I was thinking about doing the same thing.

“Great men think alike” :D
