okay i am a new jersey girl...who has never been to the west coast :/
i am, however, very interested in attending UCLA.
My stats are pretty good so I have a pretty good chance of getting accepted if I apply.
but before I apply, can someone please describe the vibe of UCLA?
i am an east coast "deep" thinker type---new yorker who lives in nj basically, lol.
i am not going to base everything on what i am told via the net, but can someone still describe (in a sense stereotype :p) the school atmosphere for me?

im too poor right now to travel from nj to cali just to visit the campus.

I made just this transition (Long Islander) and I’m really loving it. So much more laid back it seems, but still busy enough to still feel like the same planet. But the weather is beautiful, and because of that, everyone’s happy!

weather isn’t 85 all the time…its rained a lot, but it still pretty good weather…it will probably be much more fast paced life style…im orignially from east coast…obviously wayy much more materialism…it will be a big culture shock for u like it was when i came

I’m also from the east coast, but it will not be a “culture shock” if you’ve been to the west coast or have been an open mind of other cultures out there.

California is very laid back (especially compared to New York) and the weather is beautiful here.

I think it probably rained less than 21 days throughout the whole year. Definitely wouldn’t consider that “a lot”

This year seemed like a lot more rain than usual. Rained like 9 or 10 days during winter quarter!
