i'm giving in...

umm...i say ur in but it's very iffy cuz those r all top schools. however all of these positive responses do give me hope as a black student applying to penn in the future....good luck!

dood this thread keeps going on and on because the token fool keeps asking his chances even after everyone's said 'you;re probably in'. Stop tryin to stroke your ego and tell us for the 9th time how pro your school is.

don't play with the bee or you;ll get stung, bich

all of that was not necessary, but he may be tryin to stroke his ego cuz that's wat it looks like but this thread gave a lot of us somethin to do on this forum! this ish kills time....lol

stroke stroke stroke

that sounds real wrong....lol

yeah it does....mmmm.....

Penn- in
Northwestern- in
Duke- in
Harvard- waitlist
Cornell- in
WashU- in
Emory- in
Vandy- in
UofMiami- in
SMU (safety)- duh in

Token89.... do I know you. I was in DADYO. I just graduated and now I am going to Penn.

i dont know if this changes anything but i've been talking to the harvard track coach. they don't give athletic scholarships or anything of course, but he said they have about 10 students every year to the admissions committee that they say 'hey, we want these kids.' and usually 4-5 of them get in. he said i could be one of those. don't know. we'll see.

ur black so ur in

omg ew its token

ew? what'd i do now?

i hate when people say "ur black. ur in". oh well.

god i remember being on this thread like 2 months ago. Anyways, these ppl are trying to save some time by saying "ure black ure in". They have a good point, but dont rely on that too much knowing that most of the people on this forum are still in high school. Alot of these people try saying stuff like that because it might make themselves feel better and make them feel as though their chances are increasing but only if they are black. But they have a good point. Dont count on it but do put it in the equation.

Black + 2100 SAT (??) + Not a bad GPA + Nice EC = Admission into Penn(probably).

You know i actually did a lot of research just because of this thread. I looked at average SAT scores and gpas and blah blah. So u are probably in. BTW, hi token whats up.

yeah this baby's been around for a while. i think i'm going to be willing to let it die now.
p.s. i never really thought about college admissions as a formula but that one seems to make sense. thanks for everybody that gave me their two cents. i have close to $2 now.

“i go to the best private school definitely in texas and maybe in the southwest.”

Um, there are a couple of schools in Houston with initials SJS and TKS that would beg to differ.

st.john's and kinkaid? doubt it.

^Doubt it all you want. I just wouldn’t go around saying SMS is “the best private school definitely in texas and maybe in the southwest” out loud. People who know better will simply think you’re arrogant, naïve, or both. “One of the best private schools in Texas” or “the best private school in Dallas” might be more appropriate descriptors.

you honestly think that kinkaid and st.john's are better schools than st.mark's? if you do, you're sorely mistaken.
anybody that knows anything about private school education in texas knows st.mark's. i can't say the same thing for kinkaid or st.johns.
best school in dallas and texas. period. exclamation point.

No, I don’t “honestly think that kinkaid and st.john's are better schools than st.mark's”. I was simply pointing out that they are peers of your school – not better, and certainly not worse.

is there any way to "lock" a thread on cc?
