I've decided on University of Delware and although it's depressing having to turn down some very competitive schools, I think it's for the better.

Anyone else?

How about some info about yourself?

Me... from Wash, DC area... female... going to study Civil Engineering... will try out the Honors program although not sure I'll stick with it...

i'm thinking about it, bfa as well (visual comm- illustration, i think).. went to decision days last week and the program was soo impressive.. honors program as well, and wicked scholarship which makes me happy!! in sort of the same boat as you anovice, b/c i got into more traditionally prestigious schools, but not really in love with any (and waitlisted on the ones that i am) but i think that in the long run the program at delaware would get me farther than my others, but who knows..

LOL... I was at the decision day too(the 16th I think) and was also really impressed with the honors program. I'm a bit depressed about the dorms but like my parents say, I'm a bit of a "primadonna" when it comes to living conditions.

LOL, the freshman dorms aren't much to look at, but if you live in one of the Russells the spirit generally makes up for the appearance. Once you're "upper class" you can move off campus or elsewhere on campus. DD is in Sharp, on north central mall, and I was truly impressed with her room when we moved her in last August. Big, airy, central air, renovated bathrooms - definitely liveable. She's staying in Sharp next year, but hopes to have a single (roommate is graduating). Once you can get through the freshman dorms, it's a piece of cake.

i was there the same day!! they sold the place well, although the coffee sucked lol,
i think the apartments for upperclassmen are much nicer; pretty much every freshman dorm anywhere is going to be like that, i liked russell the best out of the ones i went in..

I decided that I am going to Delaware. I also feel bad turning down more prestigious schools, but I loved UDel when I stayed in the dorms. Also, money is an issue, and Delaware gave me a great scholarship. I hope I can get into Russell, and I'll see you guys there!

congratulations to all of you who have decided on going to Delaware. I graduated in '03 and still think that going to UD was one of the best choices I have ever made. congratulations again and best of luck!

I paid the deposit and filled out my housing forms. I'm horrible at decision making, so I have second thoughts about going. But with any luck it will be an amazing four years.

me too! i mean with the deposit and the (slight) doubts.. still haven't finished the housing form yet but some of the questions on there were pretty funny.. anyway, congrats on the decision!
