im going to have a hecking panic attack over Upenn

So I’m a latin american female trying to get into the school of engineering. I know that it’s such a long shot but what can I say, I’m a dreamer and I know I can write a killer essay that shows my determination and strength. I feel my ECs are incredibly weak, I was struggling to juggle school with health problems and the mental issues that came with. This is what really worries me cause I don’t want to use that as an excuse for not getting into my dream school

Gpa: 4.18 uw 5.0 w
Rank: 15/375
Classes: 4 AP ( Calc, Stats, Physics, Literature & Comp), the rest honors or advanced honors (my school only offers 10 APs)
Sat: 1450, I’ve taken it 3 times and have improved by 100 each time and want to do so one more time
Act: 33
EC:
JV tennis 3 yrs (had to quit due to nerve injury from childhood)
National art honor society 3 yrs (active treasurer)
Art club 2 yrs
Co managed a Henna stand for a summer (will be continuing to work there seasonally)
Worked part time 1 yr
Took care of the house for working mother and disabled veteran step father
Travelled to Italy, France, and Spain as an ambassador for people to people for 3 weeks

Also my brother is currently attending Upenn and my uncle is an alum. And I will be applying ED. Not sure if any of that matters

I also have an above average reading and writing comprehension of spanish, and a basic understanding of japanese speaking

You are not considered a legacy, but still ED will give you a bump. Your scores are on the low side but you are URM so that might make up for it a bit.

I don’t understand how it is possible to have a 4.18 unweighted GPA. It appears that your high school calculates things differently than any school that I have seen up to now.

Some schools count A+ as 4.3

OP, no stem activities at all?

Purely anecdotal but Penn looooooooves siblings and I know many sibling pairs here. Definitely apply ED
