Everything that could go wrong did. All my nightmares about the SAT came true today. The two things I'm most scared of happening during the SAT (or any other Scantron test) that I try to avoid soo hard happened to me today. I didn't finish my essay (ran out of time) and I stopped too early on one section before the "stop here" sign and missed like 7 questions!!!!!!!!! Also, I think I also skipped a number then bubbled in the answers for the one above the question I was supposed to bubble in for that same section..Oh god!!! I'm soooooo stupid. I'm gonna get like 1600 (that's like a 1070 in old SAT terms) or worse!!!! WHYY??????? For those of you who are stupid and cant figure it out I'm really mad and annoyed right now.

My scores are going to suffer so much. I'm not gonna get into the colleges I wanna go to. Its all over. Will this atrocious score completely ruin my chances at any good colleges??? Will taking it over and not repeating the same mistakes (thus getting the score I DESERVE) make things better? I know most colleges only take into account your highest SAT score in one sitting but still, having this on my record makes everything just soo crappy. Should I CANCEL my scores?? Will that look worse then the horrible score I know I'll receive????

yes they are... I mean, I didnt finish the essay, i was only starting my 3rd paragraph about my 2nd example, i never even got to a conclusion or anything.

BUt you said if i cancel it will be as if i never took the test, correct?

i didn't finish the essay either, but i don't think it's that big a deal. the essay is actually quite a small portion of the writing grade, and if the rest of your essay is good (which it probably was, since you actually took the time to do it...), it's not going to ruin you!

cancel it, stop worrying about it,wipe the slate clean, start practicing for the new one and hope your hardest you don't do the same thing again.

I was just wondering... I was writing my essay and I stopped at min in the word "minorities" which was going to be my last word of my essay. I should have finished the word even after the proctor said pencils down, but do you think that is going to mjaorly hurt me?

DONT cancel. Even if the worst did happen, you still may have done your best in verbal or math. Colleges only care about your BEST scores on math, verbal, and writing section. There;s no need t o worry. don't cancel, get your score back in a few weeks and take the test another month

It was so funny today, cus in the test center I didn't actually get to finish my essay when the proctor said pencils down, but there was this kid in like the second to front row who was writing real fast trying to finish his essay. The proctor said, "Alright, stop writing and put your pencils down," and everybody except for this one kid follows the proctor's directions and looks at the man. This one kid is still scribbling furiously on his paper, nearly sweating with anxiety, trying to finish it, and the proctor just looks at him like he's crazy. Good thing the proctor was cool, cus I thought the kid was going to get ejected from the center the way he kept writing after the time was up. But he only wrote for like another 20 seconds, it was just funny cus he was looking dead on at the proctor like he didn't even care.

Holy fricken crap. Do you have any idea how minor that is compared to not finishing 8 problems on the first Math section, 6 on the next, and 4 on the last. Plz don't be one of those people that's like "***, I didn't finish the last question, I might as well jump to my death within the hour!" Grr.... :(
