Well, I don't qualify for need based I think, because household income is just barely above 80,000 a year, but honestly, my family can not afford for me to go to GTech.(My dream school). So I need outside scholarships since I'm not expecting any money from the school itself. Do you guys have any recommendations about finding scholarships for hispanics. I'm completely new at this.

Don't know any specifics about scholarships intended for Hispanics (I'm sure there are some). But I wouldn't skip the FAFSA process just because your family income is around 80K. Depending on assets, you still might be eligible for some loans or other aid.

there might be some academic scholarships. but you never know about need based. apply for the fafsa and your dream school anyway...there's always a possibility that things will go your way. some scholarships you might look into are with the hispanic scholarship fund - http://www.hsf.net i'm asian, so i'm sure how to go about applying (i learned about the organization though gates millennium), but they're very helpful.

also go to fastweb.com and open up a free account. you can search for scholarships that fit your criteria. i found a lot of them on there.

and visit your school counselor for local scholarships. everyone has a better chance at winning those.

good luck!

Many, many families that make $80K receive financial aid.
