I'm homeless, in college, and I don't know what to do.

I need to know if someone has been in this predicament. i'm thousands of miles away from home and I have nothing...absolutely nothing. I moved to this place thinking that I would be able to go to school and work part time. I started out good, going to class and everything, even walking from my house (4 mile walk, daily). I started looking for work as well, but no luck. eventually, getting to school everyday and having enough energy to stay awake in school became too difficult, so i slowly stopped going, especially since i had no way of getting to school. I met a girl and became so infatuated she would end up using me for all of my resources. Now, the new semester is here and i'm a wreck. I have nothing, all of my identification is missing, i have no phone to make contacts with job references or my parents even. I struggle to find food everyday, and I haven't seen a doctor in almost 3 years. I wasn't told that college would be like this, this is a nightmare. I just want guidance right now, what do I do? My parents aren't financially stable and I have a lot of brothers and sisters. The only thing my parents say when i ask for help is "we can't afford it. you decided to go a thousand miles away to go to school, now you have to deal with it." please help me.

look into local churches, they should have some resources available to point you in the right direction. Likewise approach your school, and tell them of your situation.

You lack all this, yet you have a computer, and choose to go to an internet forum based on college advice, not self-help? -sniffs- Do I dare say I detect a hint of ■■■■■…?(;

Ever heard of a library?

Then maybe he should ask the librarian and reduce the time he spends waiting, homeless.

Ask the librarian for what?

I find this really hard to believe, I mean he created his account on the 28th of august… If you are really going through this, I would advise you seek homeless rehabilitation centers around your area

I find this incredibly easy to believe. I suggest you follow icedragon’s advice. People will help you if you talk to them and explain your situation. So do it.

Also contact your local consulate about your ID, it is very important you get that replaced.

Ask the librarian for advice. Sorta implied lol…
