I'm in a pretty weird situation. Need some advice

Hi, i applied somewhere ED and got in. At that time, my parents said that i didnt need to apply for fin aid so i didnt and checked the no box on my common app. However, there might be a chance that i might actually need some help.

Other than applying to outside scholarships, what else is there that i can do? Should i look into things like FAFSA? thanks

Your ED school admitted you assuming you wouldn't need aid. They might have decided differently had you indicated you would need aid. It's not something you can change at this point but you might call your school's financial aid office and discuss your situation with them.

oh, my school is need blind if that makes any difference. any other opinions as to what i could do?

the only thing the fafsa will 'give you' is make you eligible for an unsubsidized stafford loan of 3500.

you're not going to get a pell grant and most likely no Perkins loan

For ED, the CSS Profile was due Nov 15.

If your family's financial circumstances have recently undergone dramatic change, you might call the financial aid office and discuss your situation with them.

Rule 10. If you think you need something (money) be prepared to ask for it. You can always turn down the offer. I would start working on FAFSA in case that you will need a loan in Sept.

hmmm, so i should pretty much just plan on applying next year instead?
