I'm in dire need of help (winter schedule)

Ok... so everyone on the winter '08 board said I'll kill myself if I take LS1, Math3b, and Chem 14a in the winter... and to replace LS1 with another GE.. I've already taken history 2c, and arts and architcture... I just don't know what other GE to take.. or should I take a Writing II class.. or something like stats that's required ://////////

3 classes is definitely manageable, it is quite easy actually math 3b is just integrals and chem 14a also isn't hard at all...

do people take 4 classes? how un/common is that

umm i think it is pretty common, at least for engineers that wants to graduate in 4 years you'll have to take 4 classes a quarter every quarter... but considering that the classes you said are like life sci major classes they should be doable since i heard 3 series for math and 14 series for chem are easier than the ones i had to take and we are expected to take 2 more classes on top of those 2..

i thought 3 classes was uncommon..

i guess it really is different being an engineer lol

yeah it'll take us 6 years if we take 3 a quarter lol (im actually thinking about doing that and then take some summer classes to catch up)

^

6 years...now that's expensive

so any ideas on my third class, anyone? :)

just take the 3 you listed (LS, 3B and 14A) it should be pretty easy schedule :D

are you sure?!?! because people on the "winter '09 schedule" said i'd kill myself!!!!

which other classes are you interested in? potential GE? take all four with the GE - sit in on a random GE i think. drop the class that doesnt work out for you ... so three classes ~~~at least try the three math/sci if youre so inclined . . .

if you didn't take any science classes this quarter, that winter schedule may be a bit "heavy" to you. I would probably replace LS1 with a GE. LS1 is your "hardest" class.

kick53rv3,

I actually only took 3 classes per quarter every quarter while I was at UCLA... I still graduated in 4 years. However, I did have a 5 chem classes that were transferred from CC and did summer school one summer... so, it's not impossible...

as an engineer? thats pretty good, i didn't come in with much transfer credits so i had to follow the schedule as they layed out for the announcements and im pretty sure i wouldn't be able to do it in 4 years with 3 classes a quarter... and i don't expect a lot of people to be able to graduate in 4 with 3 a quarter but it is doable in special cases... like my roommate who finished math requirement and a couple of GEs before even starting ucla... thats 6 classes right there for math, which is 1 less class a quarter for 2 years

So... I'm pretty much screwed. I have priority but I'm using that for my chem14a (since the itme i want is VERY LIMITED) and math3b since that's limited as well.. and ls will get filled by the time my frist pass comes around... and i'm STILL not SURE about that class. oh woe is me.
