<p>It’s possible to be happy at Colgate if you refuse to even go to parties. There are usually university-sponsored events on weekends and if you live in substance-free housing you can meet like-minded people. But I wouldn’t say that there’s a whole lot to do on campus or in Hamilton that doesn’t involve being around alcohol. As a freshman going to Colgate last year I found the range of things to do underwhelming and some of my friends had similar complains. This might come with the territory of being at a small liberal-arts college in a very small town. From talking to people I know who attend public universities, I gather that it’s easier to fit in while avoiding alcohol elsewhere.</p>
